Kottayam: A young lawyer has been arrested for assaulting a woman police SI and policemen at Ramapuram. Vipin Antony, a native of Marangad, was arrested. The attack came after police arrested a drunken VP and his friends while sitting in a public place on Sunday.
Vipin was sitting with two other friends and getting drunk. They were apprehended during a police patrol. They were attacked when they tried to take them into custody after an altercation with police. The VIP was taken into custody with the help of locals when the woman tried to beat up the SI and the police. The other two could not be apprehended.
