Punalur: Two persons were killed when a pick-up truck rammed into a group of pedestrians at Urukunnu. One person was seriously injured. The deceased have been identified as Shruthi (13), daughter of Iron Olikkal Santosh and Kesia (17), daughter of Kunjumon at Tyson Bhavan.
Shruti’s sister Shalini (17) was admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital with serious injuries.
The accident took place at around 3.30 pm on Wednesday near the Iron Musliar field on the National Highway. When the three neighbors went back to the shop, they were hit by a speeding pick-up truck. The pickup turned into the field. Their bodies are in the mortuary at Punalur Taluk Hospital.
