Three people, including a couple, were killed in a collision near Villupuram.
Jayapalan (45) is from Attur area of Salem district. He was traveling in a car from Chennai to Attur yesterday morning. Selvam from Thachur suddenly tried to cross the road while going on the Vikravandi bypass road near Villupuram.
Dayalan (62) of Vikravandi, who was walking on Service Road, lost control of his car and hit his wife Chandra. Selvam, Dayalan and Chandra, who were injured in the accident, died on the spot.
Vikravandi police rushed to the spot and rushed the injured, including Jayapalan, to a government hospital. The bodies were also recovered and sent for post-mortem. The case is being registered and an investigation is underway into the accident.
