A Chennai-based couple was killed when their car collided with a lorry parked on the road near Cuddalore.
Jawahar (60) hails from Anna Nagar, Chennai. Entrepreneur. Wife Jasmine. The couple was on their way to Theni in a car yesterday morning to attend their son’s wedding reception. She is accompanied by Jawaharlal Nehru’s daughter Jenny, 24, her husband and a 4 – month – old baby.

The car collided head-on with the back of a lorry parked on the Chennai-Trichy National Highway near Ramanatham in Cuddalore district. Jawahar and his wife Jasmine died on the spot. In addition, three people, including Jenny and the baby, were seriously injured.
Those who were nearby were rescued and sent to Perambra Government Hospital for treatment. Subsequently, the bodies of the two deceased were recovered by the Ramanathapuram police and sent to the Thittakudi Government Hospital for postmortem. In addition, the accident is prosecuted and investigated.
