Narada case: Kolkata High Court files affidavit on Mamata and Malay

The Kolkata High Court on Monday submitted the affidavits of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and state law minister Malay Ghatak in the Narad case following a Supreme Court order.

Mamata Banerjee’s lawyer Rakesh Dwivedi had on June 9 filed an application in the court to file the affidavit during the hearing of the Narad case. Not only Mamata and Malay, but also Advocate General Kishore Dutt wanted to submit an affidavit on behalf of the state. But the court rejected it. High Court Acting Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice Indraprasanna Mukherjee have decided not to file the affidavit if Mamata submits the affidavit during the hearing.

Mamata then challenged the High Court order and appealed to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court directed the Kolkata High Court to file the affidavit. Mamata Banerjee’s affidavit is expected to be heard during Narad’s hearing on Tuesday.
