According to the Met Office, a low pressure area is likely to form in the southwestern Bay of Bengal tomorrow. This is the fourth hurricane to form during the northeast monsoon. The new low is expected to move west-northwest and cross the border between Sri Lanka and the southern districts. At the same time, the Meteorological Department predicts that the low pressure will not turn into a storm.
