Some experts have warned that as the second wave of Kovid in the country slows down, the third wave is likely to spread more infections in children. That claim was blocked by another panel of experts. They claim that there is no biological reason to believe that the third wave will affect children more. Experts also advised fathers and mothers not to panic unnecessarily.
“The infection usually does not spread from children to adults,” said Naveen Thackeray, president of the International Pediatric Association. On the contrary, the opposite is happening. “However, he said children are not completely safe. Children without it have not yet been vaccinated. It is important to keep these things in mind. However, no serious side effects of the infection have been seen in children so far. The symptoms are not specific to them.
Rajesh Ranjan, a professor at IIT Kanpur, said the most important thing in tackling the third wave was vaccination and adherence to a code of conduct. “No one should predict a third wave,” he said. Waves of multiple infections have also been reported in the United States, Britain, Japan and Russia.
According to him, 18-59 year olds are more likely to be infected. Only 25 percent of the body in this group has severe immunity. On the other hand, 40 percent of people over the age of 60 have developed strong immunity. He added, “Assuming that at least 30 per cent of the body’s immune system has been developed, it can be said that by October, Kovid will be affected by the third wave.”
