The stabbing death of the brother of a panchayat leader near Kodaikanal in a love affair has created a stir.
Anandan is the chairman of Kodaikanal Poolathur panchayat in Dindigul district. Brother Manimaran (24). Wage laborer. He is survived by his wife Remya and a 10-month-old baby. Surender, 22, is from the same area. The man, who runs a vegetable shop in Coimbatore, was in love with Manimaran’s wife Remya’s Plus student. Also, she texts regularly on her cell phone, forcing her to fall in love.

Surender angrily stabbed Manimaran with a concealed knife and escaped. Manimaran was critically injured and died on the spot. Thandikudi police recovered Manimaran’s body and sent it to Dindigul Government Hospital for postmortem. In addition, a case was registered in connection with the incident and the killer Surendran was investigated.
