Police in Chicago, Illinois, shot and killed 22 people Saturday, killing at least three people.
One of them died on Saturday, according to the July Statistics released by Chicago Police on Sunday. For the second year in a row, the death toll in July exceeded 100.
July 2021 witnessed a total of 105 murders, with 107 in July, 44 in 2019 and 64 in 2018.
Police say more than 90 percent of murders last month were the result of gun violence.
