Today is the last phase of the eight-phase West Bengal elections. Voting for the 35 constituencies in the last phase of the polls began at 7 am today with heavy security. Voting ends at 6:30 p.m.
There are 283 candidates in the final phase of the election. The success or failure of 283 candidates, including 35 lakh women, is going to be decided by 84 lakh 77 thousand 728 voters.
Voting begins at 7 a.m. at 11,860 polling stations and ends at 6:30 p.m. It is hoped that the performance of the ruling Trinamool Congress party in this final round of elections will be crucial for Mamata Banerjee to retain power for the third time in a row.
Heavy security has been put in place in the last phase of the polls as there were shootings and riots during the last polls.
