The French company reports that there is new evidence that Dassault paid a bribe to an intermediary to help India sell Bale fighter jets between 2004 and 2013.
In 2012, the then Congress government signed an agreement to buy 126 Rafale fighter jets from France. But the Modi government, which came to power in 2014, canceled the deal. Instead, in 2016, it signed an agreement with France to buy 36 Rafale fighter jets for Rs 59,000 crore. For years, the Congress and Rahul Gandhi have accused the BJP of abusing the Raphael deal.

The case went to court over the Raphael deal. However, Modi’s court ruled that there was no malpractice in the Raphael deal. In this case, the French online magazine Mediapart reported that there was new evidence of bribery in the Raphael warplane deal. Dassault paid a bribe of about Rs 65 crore to an intermediary (Sushen Gupta) between 2004 and 2013 to help sell the Raphael fighter jets to India, according to a MediaPart report.
Amit Malaviya
BJP spokesperson Amit Malaviya tweeted that the former United Progressive Alliance (Congress-led government) had taken bribes. But the contract could not be terminated. Dassault paid $ 1.46 million to Sushen Gupta, an intermediary between 2004 and 2013, to sell the Raphael (warplane). Thus the United Progressive Alliance government took bribes. But could not terminate the contract? The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) later rescinded it and signed an agreement with the French government. It is recorded that this caused great distress to Rahul Gandhi.
