If the rules are not followed properly, a third wave could hit the country in August. In such cases, the number of victims per day is expected to cross one lakh. This was stated by Sameer Panda, Head of Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
Sameer warned the states that the situation would escalate beyond the second wave if the Kovid regulations were not properly adhered to. In his words, “each state should review the condition of the first and second waves separately and take similar action.” There are many states where the first two waves of infection do not attack that way. But if not activated, the third wave will affect those states as well.

Medical scientists at ICMR have already predicted that adults and children could become victims of the third wave of infections. Sameeran said Kovid could not spread further in the concerned states if the immunization was high. Even if it spreads, it will not be able to take the form of murder. Emphasis should be placed on treatment in high-risk areas. Only then can the infection be controlled.
The Delta Plus type corona virus is already being sought in many states of the country. “The more the virus transforms, the worse the condition will be,” he said.
