New Delhi: Former Assam Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Tarun Gogoi has died at the age of 84. Gogoi, who was earlier suffering from Kovid, was undergoing treatment at Guwahati Medical College.
In August, Gogoi, who was suffering from Kovid, underwent plasma therapy. Gogoi had been on a ventilator since November 2 as the discomfort continued even after Kovid was negative.
He fell ill during the Gogoi – led talks to form a grand coalition in the 2021 elections. He was the Chief Minister of Assam for three terms from 2001 to 2016 for 15 years. Gogoi Narasimha Rao, a six-time MP, was also a Union Minister in the cabinet.
