A father and daughter were killed when their car collided with a two-wheeler near Dindigul.
Murugan (48) hails from Chittarevu village near Wattalakundu in Dindigul district. He was traveling with his son Pukh and daughter Soumya (8) to a relative’s house in a two-wheeler. The car was traveling from Wattalakundu to Chempatty near Chalaiputhur on the Wattalakundu-Chempatty road when it collided with Murugan’s vehicle.

Murugan was shot in the head and died on the spot. Pattiviranapatti police rescued the injured Pukal and Soumya and shifted them to Vattalakundu government hospital. There Soumya succumbed to death.
The injured were shifted to Madurai Rajaji Hospital for further treatment. The driver Ramki (37), a native of Senkattampatti, was injured in the accident and is undergoing treatment at the Vattalakundu Government Hospital. Pattiviranapatti police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
