The Erode bus stand will be shifted to the CNC College ground for the Smart City project, said Corporation Commissioner Elangovan.
Erode Corporation is renovating the bus stand under the Smart City project. As the bus stand racks, roof walkway and old buildings were damaged, repairs were started at a cost of `40 crore. To this end, the area where the damaged pillars are located was closed. Then, the old buildings will be demolished. Prior to that, the bus station had to be temporarily relocated to the CNC College Grounds.
Erode Corporation Commissioner Elangovan said, “The Erode Corporation bus stand is being renovated at a cost of` 40 crore under the Smart City project. It includes the demolition of the old building on the compound wall and the Satti Road area, as well as a mining parking lot, a commercial complex and a minibus parking lot. Prior to the demolition, the bus station will be temporarily relocated to the CNC College Grounds. Will be relocating by the end of August. ”

“It simply came to our notice then. There are more than 50 shops at the Erode bus stand. Already 15 stores have been vacated. The rest asked permission to vacate the shops. A new bus station is being set up in the solar area. Buses from Karur, Madurai, Tirunelveli and Nagercoil will be stopped.
“Similarly, buses and city buses from cities like Coimbatore, Salem and Tirupur will stop at the bus stand at the temporary CNC college ground,” he said.
