Blood tests can predict 50 types of cancer this time around. It can be done as soon as the deadly disease has settled in the human body. The National Health Service (NHS) is preparing to launch a large-scale clinical trial in England to assess the effectiveness of this innovative diagnostic method.
The NHS announced on Saturday that a clinical trial in England would begin in mid-August. A large-scale clinical trial will be conducted on people 50 years of age and older who are initially suspected of having cancer. Clinical trials have already been conducted in several US states to test the effectiveness of this innovative blood test method, developed by an American company, Grail. The NHS said the decision to launch the trial in England had been well received.
According to Grail, clinical trials of this innovative method have already been conducted in 2,623 men and women with cancer in the United States. At the same time, tests have been performed on 1,254 men and women who have not yet been diagnosed with cancer.
