Trinamool MP and Trinamool All India General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee has once again expressed his excitement over the ‘Diamond Harbor Model’. The infection rate in Diamond Harbor Lok Sabha constituency is less than 3 per cent. “I sincerely thank the people of Diamond Harbor for their support and cooperation in this fight against Corona,” he said in a Facebook message to the people of Diamond Harbor.
“Despite being close to the Ganges and Kolkata, the infection rate in the Diamond Harbor Lok Sabha constituency is less than three per cent,” he added.
Abhishek, who visited Diamond Harbor a few days ago, opined that in the current cowardly atmosphere, any kind of vote should be postponed. However, he also referred to it as his ‘personal opinion’. MP Kalyan Bandyopadhyay also scoffed at it.
On Saturday, Abhishek described the Election Commission’s decision to postpone the polls for three weeks at the request of the High Court. In a tweet, he wrote, “I sincerely thank the esteemed High Court and the Election Commission for postponing the state elections for three weeks. We need to work together to ensure that the rate of corona infection in Bengal is below three per cent in the next three weeks. The fight against corona should be intensified at this stage.
