A coconut trader was killed when his two-wheeler collided near Pollachi in Coimbatore district.
Venkitesh (53) hails from Sameen Uthukkuli in Kali Palayam area near Pollachi in Coimbatore district. He was in the coconut trade in the same area. In this situation, Venkatesh was walking on the Meenakkara-Pollachi road yesterday. A two-wheeler coming from that direction collided with Venkatesh while trying to cross the road near the Sinivasapuram flyover.

In this he was seriously injured. Those present rescued Venkatesh and rushed him to the Pollachi Government Hospital. But died on the way to the hospital. Pollachi West police recovered the body and sent it to Pollachi Government Hospital for postmortem. Also, Dhanush (20), a resident of Zameen Uthukuli, was arrested for driving a two-wheeler after registering a case regarding the accident.
