A young man was killed when a minivan rammed into a group of pilgrims near Kanniwadi in Dindigul district.
Sangayya and Palaniyammal couple from Mavuthanpatti area of Dindigul district. Their son is Satish Kumar (25). The mother and son were on a pilgrimage to the Palani Murugan Temple this morning. This morning, they were walking with the devotees in the Kuyavanayakkanpatti area near Kannivadi.

The minivan, which was carrying devotees’ belongings from Madurai, suddenly went out of control and entered the crowd. Injured Satish Kumar died on the spot. Also, 2 devotees from Madurai were seriously injured. On learning of the accident, Kanniwadi police rushed to the spot and rushed the two injured to the hospital.
In addition, the body of Satish Kumar was seized and sent to Dindigul Government Hospital for post-mortem. Subsequently, a case has been registered and an investigation is underway into the accident.
