Police have launched an investigation into a man who raped a woman and bought a house.

Kanjana, a woman living in Ashok Nagar, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, owns a house in Ashok Nagar. Anandaraj was running a rented office on the ground floor of her house. He told her he wanted to start his own business and bought a house in her name. The young man then severed ties with the young woman. The victim lodged a complaint with the office of the Commissioner of Police.
According to police, Anandaraj raped Pakiyalakshmi, refused to marry her and extorted money from her.
Anandaraj had also lodged a complaint with the police alleging that he had extorted money from a woman who was working as a manager at a beauty salon in Valasaravakkam and tried to harass her. All these complaints are being investigated by the police.
