The Puducherry government has reduced the excise duty on petrol and diesel by reducing the excise duty on petrol and diesel. Oil companies set petrol and diesel prices on a daily basis in line with international crude oil prices.

Rising petrol and diesel prices have hit the public and motorists hard. The prices of essential commodities were also rising. In this context, the central government has reduced the excise duty on petrol by Rs 5 per liter and diesel by Rs 10 per liter for Diwali.

In this context, Chief Minister Rangasamy announced the reduction of VAT on petrol and diesel by Rs 7 in Pondicherry. With this, petrol price in Puducherry has come down by Rs 12.85 per liter and diesel by Rs 19. In Puducherry today, petrol costs Rs 94.94 per liter and diesel Rs 94 per liter. Sold at 83.58.
