Governor Jagadeep Dhankar took the initiative to meet Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee. The meeting may have started with Dhankar. The two will meet on Friday at 4 p.m.
The governor tweeted about it on Friday morning. He wrote, ‘West Bengal Assembly Speaker Shri Biman Bandiyopadhyay will pay a courtesy call on Governor Shri Jagdeep Dhankar on Friday at 4 pm at the Raj Bhavan. The meeting will be held at the initiative of the Governor. ‘
The governor sent a letter to the speaker last June expressing dissatisfaction with the speaker’s performance. He accused the speaker of insulting the governor. Moreover, the Governor mentioned in his letter to the Speaker why he had stopped speaking at the beginning of the Assembly session. He then said, “I have stopped my speech in the Assembly. It’s an emergency. ”
The Speaker also lodged a complaint against the Governor. His allegation was that the governor had blocked multiple bills. The subject of the meeting came up for discussion on Friday following a confrontation between the speaker and the governor. It is hoped that the two will discuss a number of issues in the Assembly.
