Kepraj, who runs a martial arts training center in Chennai, has been charged with sexually assaulting a 26-year-old woman. The girl had lodged a complaint with the Chennai Anna Nagar police station alleging that she was sexually assaulted in a car on her way back from a match in Namakkal and threatened to kill her if she did not cooperate. This matter caused controversy.
Anna Nagar police have registered a case against Kibraj following a complaint lodged by the victim. Kibraj was arrested and jailed on the 31st of last month. It was in this context that DGP Tripathi issued an order to hand over the case against karate and judo coach Kibraj to the CPCIT. DGP Tripathi said the transfer was made to the CPCID on the recommendation of Chennai Police Commissioner Shankar Jival.
It should be noted that Rajagopalan, a teacher at the Padmashadri School in Chennai, and Nagarajan, an athletics coach, were involved in a sexual harassment case before the sexual harassment case against Kibraj.
